This course is an introduction to the concept of gender as it relates to society. Students will explore various aspects of gender including: social construction of gender; gender identity development; changing gender roles; gender-based status, power and privilege; gender discrimination; and other sociological concerns related to being ‘male’, ‘female’, or ‘transgendered.’ 

(Fulfills Social Science requirement.)
