Dear MCC Students:
We are thrilled you are joining us at this momentous time, as we celebrate our 80th anniversary. Manchester Community College was founded in 1945 for returning WWII Veterans. You are part of an honorable history – built upon our trade and technical legacy – transformed into the comprehensive community college you attend today.
Thank you for choosing MCC. You are our raison d'être, the reason we exist. You are part of our community of students, faculty, staff, and local partners. I encourage you to connect with your fellow classmates, both in the classroom and through student life activities.
MCC has dozens of clubs and leadership opportunities. Please plan to attend the club fair at the beginning of the semester, then sign up to participate in a club that relates to your major, hobby, or interest.
MCC faculty and staff come to work every day to support your success. Don’t hesitate to contact your professors early on if you have questions about class material, deadlines, and policies. Our faculty, many of whom were first-generation college students, as I was, understand the school/work/life balancing act. Reach out early in the semester to meet with your professors – connection is important.
Our offices are available in person and remotely, so stop by the Welcome Center if you have questions. You can email or “chat” with the bursar, financial aid, or registrar online. MCC’s food pantry, “My Campus Cupboard,” just moved to Room 117 of our main building. Feel free to visit for snacks or groceries as needed when the campus is open. While the bookstore recently moved fully online, you can still visit the Learning Commons if you need help activating digital codes for course materials. You’ll also find tutors and study areas in the Learning Commons, including a family study area where children are welcome to accompany you.
We look forward to celebrating MCC’s 80th anniversary throughout the year, including a special event on the evening of November 12, 2025 – where we will bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and members of the larger community. Please mark your calendar, more details to follow!
Gratefully yours,
Dr. Paul Beaudin, President
Manchester Community College
