ETEC146M - Commercial Driver Training Behind the Wheel Range ETEC146M is a hands-on, comprehensive lab study where a student will learn and practice the physical operation of Class A, Commercial Motor Vehicle, Behind-the-Wheel “Range” skills and knowledge. A focus on the safe, legal, and professional operation of a variety of vehicles for which commercial licensure is a prerequisite. This course also focuses on the skills and behavioral characteristics of a professional commercial driver. Specific instructions are provided to prepare students for learner’s permit testing. The course also covers preparation and the study for additional endorsements. Prerequisite: ETEC145M, Commercial Driver Training Theory.

SPCL115M - Biotechnology Skills and Industry Standards This course equips students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in biotechnology, focusing on the essential skills required for entry-level laboratory positions and further study in the field. Students will train in molecular biology, microbiology, and biomanufacturing techniques, including DNA extraction and analysis, protein quantification, PCR, aseptic technique, and cell culture. Emphasis is placed on laboratory safety, documentation, and technical communication, as well as industry standards such as current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), quality control, and regulatory compliance. Students will maintain laboratory notebooks, write technical reports, and complete tasks that simulate real-world workflows. This course also prepares students to pursue industry-recognized credentials aligned with biotechnology career pathways.

NURS212M - Nursing IV: Gr4 Community Hlth The student develops increased competence and independence to provide and manage care for patients and families with common multi-system health problems across the life span. The scope of the course includes ethical decision-making, role performance and the care of patients with multi-system health problems of metabolism/immunity/hematopoiesis; cognition/sensation/perception; and cardio-respiratory. Additional course content includes leadership skills, health care policy and legislative advocacy. A research paper is required concerning current health care/nursing trends. Laboratory learning focuses on student case presentations involving current, multi-system health problems and ethical decision-making. Clinical learning experiences are provided for the student in advanced medical-surgical and community health settings.
