Dear MCC Students:

Thank you for choosing community and enrolling at Manchester Community College this semester.

Every year at MCC offers something different for new and returning students, and this year we welcome a new mascot and expanded athletics. We are thrilled to now offer competitive e-sports and opportunities to be involved in other athletic offerings. I am happy to share these developments because participation in student athletics is positive for athletes, as well as our college community at-large. We have also said good-bye to our historic beaver mascot and welcomed the new nighthawk – a mascot selected by MCC students after a year-long process.  You will be hearing more about the MCCNH Nighthawk – especially as we unveil the new student portal, which will be accessible from our main mccnh.edu website.

Our new athletics programs are part of MCC student life, which also includes an array of clubs and leadership organizations that I encourage you to explore. Please make plans to stop by the Club Fair and sign up to participate in a club that relates to your major or to a hobby. Your MCC education is geared to supporting you academically, professionally and socially. Did you know that in-person and online tutoring services are available for free for MCC students? Stop by the Learning Commons or speak with your professor or advisor to learn more. While you are in the Learning Commons, check out our new space dedicated to wellness, faith and meditation.

We also have the friendliest IT Helpdesk around, so contact them with any questions or concerns as you navigate the Student Information System, Canvas etc. Other student resources include an on-campus food pantry and fitness center. Our offices are available in-person and online, so stop by the bursar with questions about your bill, or financial aid to better understand your grant awards. You can also “chat” with those offices and others online. I cannot emphasize enough that higher education is a two-way street and MCC faculty and staff look forward to engaging with you on this journey.

Welcome to the MCC family; I hope to meet you soon!

Peace,
