This course is a survey of the Mechanical / HVAC Project Estimation from intial conception to completion. Students will study the “Estimating Process” from types of estimates, takeoff procedures, required permitting, cost analysis, bidding stratigies, purchasing, scheduling, and project management techniques. Various types of projects from new construction, renovations, retrofits, to repairs will be covered. After building a conceptural base, students will apply their knowledge to simulated Mechanical / HVAC projects.
Prerequisites: HVAC256M or permission of full time HVAC faculty.
