This course examines ethical, legal, and societal issues surrounding the development and deployment of Extended Reality (XR) systems. Students will explore privacy, surveillance, data ownership, identity, and representation in immersive technologies. Case studies and debates will guide analysis of emerging regulations and corporate policies related to XR. Emphasis is placed on designing ethical frameworks and recommendations that promote responsible innovation and protect user rights within immersive environments.
